Renato Dicent is an accomplished artist and costume designer based in New York City and joins Sperto to introduce his Spring 2017 collection.
He has sculpted, casted and hand painted villain costumes for Men in Black 3, fabricated the Ginger Bread costume for Russell Brand in Arthur, and pattern designed Angel Wings for Mary J. Blige in Black Nativity. He designed and demonstrated how to make a Zombie Mom for Heidi Klum’s 2012 Halloween Special, fabricated Halloween Costumes for The View, as well as Icarus Wings for Law in Order, and distressed and hand painted Dancer’s Costumes for Smash.
Renato has also created specially-designed, hand-crafted costumes for Broadway, including the plays The Book of Mormon, Sister Act, Pippin, and Shakespeare in the Park.
He has also worked with some of the world’s top fashion publications, including Vogue, W Magazine, and The New York Times Magazine.
Renato’s work has been chosen by our most recognizable celebrities. He hand-painted, pattern-designed and fabricated Heidi Klum’s Body without the Skin 2011 Halloween Costume, collaborated on the Phoenix Costume for Kanye West’s Runaway Video, and fabricated and hand-painted a Fiberglass Mask for Madonna and her back-up dancers for her 2012 tour MDNA, as well as designed and sculpted head dresses based on Hamish Bowles’s hairstyle for his creation at Prada for NYC 2012 Fashion’s Night Out.
